Kings XI Punjab won

Pune Warriors Vs Kings XI Punjab
Pune Warriors 99/9 (20/20 ov)
Kings XI Punjab 100/2 (12.2/20 ov)
April, 7, 2013

Result:
Kings XI Punjab won by 8 wickets (with 46 balls remaining)

What a thrashing, losing a T20 with almost eight overs to go. Pune have their third captain in as many seasons, but it's not looking any better for them with successive losses to start off. Winning start for Kings XI, though, we are informed on air that this is the first time they've won their first game in a season. Thrilling IPL debut for Manan Vohra, Gilchrist showing he's still got some of the old touch, and Mandeep chipping in as he often does. They didn't have much to get after that attack of theirs ran through Pune for 99. Something's got to be really twisted down in the Pune camp, they are a really solid side on paper.

Chennai Super Kings v Mumbai Indians
Result:
Mumbai Indians won by 9 runs

Dhoni walked in, and the match started to turn. An upper cut appeared, a whiplash drive, a calm pull. Soon the long-on and deep midwicket boundary was being peppered with monster sixes, even as batsmen kept arriving and departing at the other end. Pollard took the most punishment, five of Dhoni's eight boundaries coming off him.

IPL 6 - Sun Raised In Night

Indian Premier League - 3rd match
Played at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Uppal, Hyderabad
5 April 2013 - day/night (20-over match)

Sunrisers Hyderabad v Pune Warriors

Result:
Sunrisers Hyderabad won by 22 runs.

Sunrisers used up their quota when they batted, but weren't able to find any momentum. The top four got only starts, and it was down to Perera to breathe some life into a suffocating innings. He began with consecutive fours off Rahul Sharma and slogged Marlon Samuels' darts for two more boundaries before mishitting an Ashok Dinda full toss in the 18th over. Perera's fall meant Sunrisers weren't able to finish well with the bat, but they were far more determined with the ball.
